Gio joined Sports Field Solutions after looking for a career that would keep him active and connected to something he has been around his whole life. Growing up on sports fields and working in residential landscape and lawn maintenance gave him a solid foundation, and moving into the sports field industry felt like the right next step.

What he enjoys most about the work is the pace. Every day is different, the work is hands on, and it takes a team to get things done the right way. That combination of teamwork, challenge, and staying active is what makes the job a good fit.

One of his favorite experiences so far has been participating twice in The Soccer Tournament, a 7v7 event with teams from all over the world competing for a one million dollar prize. He had the opportunity to compete with Villarreal CF, a professional team from Spain, in a tournament hosted by Chris Paul that also featured personalities like Pat McAfee. Being part of something like that was a unique experience and something he takes a lot of pride in.

Originally born in Los Angeles, he spent his early years in Sacramento before moving to North Texas at 15, where he has been ever since. Outside of work, he coaches soccer at both the high school and club level, which keeps him close to the game and involved in developing players.

Across all sports he has teams he follows, but his favorite is Club Deportivo Guadalajara, a reflection of his passion for soccer and the culture around it.
